2016 Mitsubishi Outlander will have a more refined drive quality - Report

Will feature a major facelift and engineering improvements.

Earlier in March, Mitsubishi had dropped a teaser about a new model that will make its debut at the 2015 New York Auto Show. As it turns out, the model in question is the upcoming facelift for the Mitsubishi Outlander.

The facelift will debut Mitsubishi's new design language for future vehicles. It draws many parts from the Outlander PHEV Concept-S showcased at the 2014 Paris Motor Show. For instance, it will borrow the X-shaped front bumper, and a 2-slat chrome grille flanked by sleek headlamps. Based on recent spyshots, the rear-end will feature new lights and bumper.

The interior has not been revealed, yet. Reports speculate that the new Outlander will come with new dashboard trim and touchscreen infotainment system that will add a premium appeal to the cabin.

Speaking to inautonews, a company representative said that the 2016 Outlander was not merely an exterior facelift and that "countless engineering improvements to improve the overall refinement and drive quality" are in store.
