Nissan has unveiled the 2016 Nissan GT-R Track Edition at the IAA 2015 in Frankfurt. The high-spec variant of the GT-R is engineered by Nismo, and borrows cues from the full-blown Nissan GT-R Nismo.

Compared to the regular GT-R, the Track edition adds special carbon-fiber air ducts in the front lip spoiler, new front and rear brake cooling air guides for optimum brake temperature and stopping power and a revised suspension, which includes specialized Bilstein DampTronic gas pressure shock absorbers and higher spring rates.

Inside, it features a two tone red and black interior with generous helping of carbon fiber. The seats, steering wheel and gear selector are upholstered in leather with white contrast stitching.

Under the hood is a 3.8-liter twin-turbo V6 that makes 545 PS and 627 Nm of torque, which is sent to all four wheels via a 6-speed sequential dual-clutch transmission. It is mounted to the rear of the chassis, thus becoming the world's first independent rear transaxle all-wheel drive car.
