2016 Range Rover Evoque (facelift) unveiled with Ingenium diesel engine - IAB Report
New 2.0L Ingenium diesel comes in two output states.
Land Rover has unveiled the 2016 Range Rover Evoque (facelift) about a week prior to the vehicle's public appearance at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show that starts on March 3. Deliveries are scheduled to begin in August this year, while pricing will be comparable to the current models, says the British marque.
In terms of exterior design, the vehicle gets a refreshed fascia with a new bumper, all-LED headlamps, two new grille designs (depending on the variant), LED foglamps, and new spoiler. The 5-door model now gets bonnet vents, like the 3-door coupe version, while three new alloy wheel design round up the changes.
On the inside, the Evoque facelift gets new seats and interior trim. There's also an inclusion of the 6-speaker, 8-inch InControl Touch touchscreen infotainment system, which apart from doing the regular infotainment duties also allows users to stream their smartphone screen onto the system's display.
The InControl Touch Plus offers a pair of 8-inch screens at the rear along with a 11- or 17-speaker configuration.
The engine range on the Evoque now includes a 240 PS Si4 petrol engine (non-Ingenium) and a new Ingenium TD4 diesel engine. The 2.0L diesel engine will be available in two states of tune: 180 PS or 150 PS, the latter being 18 per cent more efficient than the previous diesel unit. The lesser powered engines which offer better efficiency will be branded with a blue Evoque badge.
The 2016 Evoque gets updated safety features like Autonomous Emergency Braking, Lane-Keeping Assist, Attention Assist Estimation, and the ability to notify the driver if a collision is eminent. The vehicle will be made in five models, namely Pure, SE, HSE, HSE Dynamic, and Autobiography.
