New Skoda Superb to launch in India by H2 2016 - Report
No immediate plans to launch the new Fabia in India.
The new 2016 Skoda Superb is expected to launch in India by the second half of 2016, according to a report by the PTI. Unveiled last week in the Czech Republic, the new Superb is due for a public premiere at the Geneva Motor Show next month, with European sales expected to start later this year.
The luxury sedan is based on the VW Group's MQB platform, and is 75 kg lighter than its predecessor. It is announced with four-cylinder TSI and TDI engines, with a plug-in hybrid expected to join the line-up later on.
Until the Superb's Indian launch, Skoda Auto India will be focussing on introducing facelifts for its existing products (the Rapid facelift being under development), and improving customer satisfaction. From 2017 onwards, the company plans on ramping up the product portfolio in the country, Skoda Auto India Chairman and Managing Director Sudhir Rao, said.
