Launches in Thailand on July 17, 2015.

TMT (Toyota Motor Thailand) has commenced the dealership dispatch of the all-new 2016 Toyota Fortuner which makes its world premiere on July 17, 2015. The SUV was recently spotted on a transporter revealing new design details.

The Hilux Revo-based 2016 Toyota Fortuner is expected to come with 18-inch alloys as standard.

One can't help but draw comparisons between the new Fortuner and the Range Rover Evoque based on the design of the rear windows, and the way they integrate with the rear windscreen. A subtle chrome highlight is also seen running the length of the window line to give the Fortuner a more premium appearance.

The 2016 Fortuner is reported to come in four diesel variants, and one petrol model. The diesel variants will be powered by the new 'GD' diesel engine family which comprises of 2.4- and 2.8-liter units, while the petrol carries over the 2.7-liter VVT-i from the previous generation model.

The petrol variant of the new Fortuner, which is not offered in India, will carry over the 2.7-liter engine.

Teaser images of the 2016 Fortuner have revealed a different interior (as compared to the new Hilux Revo) with a vertical orientation and color coordinated materials. Features like ABS, EBD, dual front airbags, HAC, smart entry and an engine starter button are expected to be a part of the standard kit.
