Spied - 2016 Toyota Innova's dashboard

Comes with a touch screen infotainment system.

Published by TheCarnBikemag.com, the picture shows the 2016 Toyota Innova's dashboard, which as reported earlier, looks cleaner and accommodates the instrument cluster under a curve, and gently flattens towards the passenger side.

The large LCD screen seen in the shot might be featured on the top-spec version only, though. The steering wheel appears to be a three-spoke unit with audio controls on it, and is likely to be the same as the one found on the new Corolla.

The dashboard on the 2016 Innova is bound to be more premium than the current version's.

Apart from that, the report suggests that the interior gets new rectangular AC vents, and an overall classier cabin. The current generation Innova (in the top Z trim) doesn't miss out on a lot of features but the cabin looks and feels old.

The 2016 model is expected to be a major change both in terms of interior as well as exterior looks. And while the Innova has always had a well-balanced chassis (both in terms of handling and dynamics), the engine on the upcoming version is said to be new, with an optional automatic transmission. Also, to enable more room on the inside, it won't be surprising if the 2016 Innova is a bit longer than the current one.

The new Innova is expected to be larger and offer more space for passengers and luggage.

As for the styling, it is expected to mimic elements like the lights, bumpers and grille from the new Corolla Altis. The headlamps will get similar Position Lights (which is Toyota's name for LED daytime running lights) while the tail lamps will now be horizontally placed unlike the current units.

It has already been announced that Toyota Motor Philippines Corp will invest 2 billion pesos (INR 2.75 billion) to improve its parts localization for the new Innova, which launches in the country next year. Expect the new Innova in the Indian market in early 2016.
