IAB Rendering - 2016 Toyota Innova's rear
Based on a new ladder-frame chassis.
Toyota is testing the next gen versions of two of its key models (Innova and Fortuner), both of which play a vital role in the company's Asian operations. The next generation Innova especially, has been spotted on test in India many a time, ahead of its debut which - according to sources - is scheduled for next year. Seen here is our artist, Shoeb R Kalania, rendering the rear of the new MPV based on spyshots.
One look at the new Innova is enough to confirm that the car has indeed grown in size. While the height and width of the test mules were relatively similar to the current model, the length, especially after the C-Pillar seemed elongated suggesting better cabin space for rear seat passengers.
The third window has an interesting cut to it, and the taillights of the new Innova are horizontally oriented as against the current model's vertically stacked units.
