Spied - 2016 Toyota Innova caught testing in Bangalore again
Next gen Innova to be revealed in Asia next year.
The next generation 2016 Toyota Innova was spotted on test once again in Karnataka, where Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) has its manufacturing facility. The Japanese major is in an advanced stage of testing the new people mover, as an Asian debut is expected to take place sometime next year.
The new Innova - sources tell Indian Autos Blog - will use a new ladder-frame platform for its underpinnings. The overall look of the MPV will be similar to the outgoing model, yet designers have dished out a new design for the light elements, and the D-Pillar in particular seems to receive a stylish window.
Power for the new Innova will be sourced from an all-new diesel engine, which would better the current 2.5-liter unit in areas such as NVH, efficiency and emissions. Sources also say that an automatic transmission would be offered with this engine apart from a standard manual gearbox.

The current Innova is responsible for getting TKM the necessary volumes. For this calendar year, TKM sold an average of 3,847 units of the MPV each month. The company would like to replicate this success when the new generation model goes on sale in early 2016 in India.
