The 2016 Toyota Innova was caught on test once again in the city of Bangalore, where Toyota Kirloskar Motor has its headquarters and manufacturing facility. The second generation of the popular people-mover started its real world test earlier this month, and so far, prototypes have been spotted in India and Thailand.

The 2016 Toyota Innova will be based on an all-new ladder-frame setup.

Based on an all-new ladder frame setup, the new Innova is expected to grow in size marginally, as can be seen by the long C-Pillars. This should translate into better interior space, presumably a comfier third row and a larger boot.

Underneath, the new Innova is expected to draw power from Toyota's new range of engines which would be ready by then. Sources tell Indian Autos Blog that the company is toying with the idea of an automatic gearbox for the diesel variant of the MPV.

The Innova is Toyota Kirloskar Motor’s best selling product, accounting for average monthly sales of 4,600 units (January-June 2014 period). The Innova name has built a strong reputation as well, both among private and fleet owners, and the newer model certainly has its work cut out. Expect the second generation Innova to launch in India in 2016.
