Expected to be launched in India with petrol and diesel engines.

Seen here is the first teaser image of the 2016 Toyota Innova by Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM), ahead of its Indian premiere at the Auto Expo 2016. TKM is also organizing a contest for existing Innova owners, titled "Heritage of Innova Wall".

The 2016 Toyota Innova is identical in wheelbase to its predecessor.

The 2016 Innova, for now, is made and sold only in the Indonesian market. The second generation MPV continues to ride on a ladder-frame platform, and is paired to Toyota's all-new GD diesel engine and a VVT-i petrol unit. With the ongoing ban on diesel engined cars with engine capacity greater than 2,000 cc in the NCR, TKM is poised to introduce petrol and diesel variants of the new Innova.

The diesel engine is a 2.4-liter four-cylinder unit developing 149 PS and 342 Nm of torque, while the 2.0-liter petrol puts out 139 PS and 187 Nm of torque. Both engines are available with a 5-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic in the Indonesian market, and the same gearbox options are expected to be carried over to the Indian model.

The top-end variant of the new Innova gets 7 airbags, ABS, EBD and ESP.

It is available in three distinct variants in Indonesia - G, V and Q. On the top-end variant, the 2016 Innova offers LED projector headlights, alloy wheels, a touchscreen entertainment system, steering-mounted controls, automatic climate control, captains chairs for the second row and two driving modes (PWR and ECO).
