2016 Toyota Yaris L (facelift) spied in China
Reported to go on sale in China in H2 2016.
Toyota will likely introduce the facelifted 2016 Toyota Yaris L at the 2016 Beijing Motor Show. A spyshot from auto.ifeng.com shows the facelifted model ready to debut in China. The front-end has been made more aggressive with restyled headlamps, new grille design and a more prominent bumper.
It remains to be seen if this design is used for the ASEAN-spec Toyota Yaris as well. However, the facelifted Yaris L in no way is indicative of what changes to expect on the Euro-spec Yaris, as the Euro-spec Yaris is different from the Asian one. The rear-end is yet to be revealed, but it shouldn't be as drastically redesigned as the front-end. Restyled bumper and new taillamp graphics are expected to be the main changes at the rear.

The current 5-door Toyota Yaris L is sold in China with 1.3- and 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engines. Chinese media reports say that the 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine will be replaced by a 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol engine with the facelift. The current Toyota Yaris L range starts from 69,800 yuan and goes up to 108,800 yuan. It's manufactured locally by Guangzhou-Toyota joint venture, unlike the Toyota Vios, the sedan on which it’s based, which is manufactured by FAW-Toyota joint venture.
