Will adopt the new Audi-like nomenclature system.

FAW-Volkswagen has released the first teaser of the next-gen China-exclusive 2016 VW Bora. The front-end of the model has already been revealed in spy shots, but the teaser image gives a closer look at the front-end with more clarity.

Changes include new upper and lower grille and redesigned headlamps with U-shaped LED daytime running lights, bumper and fog lamps. More creases appear on the hood to give it a more athletic look. Overall, the front-end is highly inspired by the new Volkswagen models sold outside China as well, especially the 2015 VW Passat (B8) and the 2016 VW Passat (NMS).

The 2016 VW Bora will be based on the Volkswagen Group's PQ35 platform.

Recent spy shots have revealed that like the upcoming China-spec 2016 VW Passat (NMS), the 2016 VW Bora will adopt the new model nomenclature, similar to Audi's. One of the grades will be '230 TSI', powered by the 1.4-litre TSI petrol engine.
