The second generation Audi Q5 has been officially unveiled at the 2016 Paris Motor Show. Here's a visual comparison between the 2017 Audi Q5 and the (first generation) 2013 Audi Q5.

Design

The second generation Audi Q5 features an evolutionary design.

The second generation Audi Q5 embodies the company's latest design language, and although evolutionary at best, looks far more aggressive and appealing compared to the previous generation. The all-new Q5 will be available in 14 different exterior colours and 5 equipment lines - sport and design, the S line sport package, design selection and the S line exterior package.

Dimensions

The second-gen model is 34 mm longer with a length of 4,663 mm, 51 mm wider with a width of 2,140 mm (with door mirrors open) and 4 mm taller with a height of 1,659 mm in height. The wheelbase has been extended by 12 mm to 2,819 mm. There's 550-610 litres of luggage space available behind the rear seats, which is 10 litres more than the previous model. When the rear bench is folded down, 1,550 litres of load space becomes available.

Specifications

Despite being bigger, the new generation Audi Q5 is up to 90 kg lighter. The MLB Evo platform-based Audi Q5 will be available with 185 kW (252 PS) 2.0-litre TFSI petrol, 110 kW (150 PS) 2.0-litre TDI diesel, 120 kW (163 PS) 2.0-litre TDI diesel, 140 kW (190 PS) 2.0-litre TDI diesel and 210 kW (286 PS) 3.0-litre TDI diesel engine options. These are paired to six-speed manual, seven-speed S tronic and eight-speed tiptronic (only with the 3.0 TDI) transmissions.
