2017 Bajaj Pulsar 220F launched at INR 91,201

The Bajaj Pulsar 220 is the largest selling bike among the 200 cc+ Bajaj-retailed bikes.

Bajaj Auto has formally launched the BSIV compliant 2017 Bajaj Pulsar 220F. Introduced first in July 2007 with a fuel injected mill, the Bajaj Pulsar 220F has gone through several changes but the overall design has remained the same, and continues to be so.

The Bajaj Pulsar 220F 2017 edition gets a minor price hike and a BSIV compliant engine.

The bike gets a new backlit colour for the instrumentation cluster moving away from the traditional amber to cool blue. The mix of analogue tachometer and digital speedometer continues to do duty. The exhaust canister has been given a matte black finish. Bajaj claims that the contoured seats have been made from premium material providing additional comfort and stability to the rider and pillion claimed to have better cushioning.

The biggest change though has been in the engine compartment. The current BSIII compliant engine has been upgraded to meet BSIV emission norms, but without changes to the specification. Displacing 220 cc, the oil-cooled, single cylinder mill is coupled to a 5-speed gearbox and is capable of producing 21.05 PS of maximum power at 8,500 rpm and 19.12 Nm of peak torque at 7,000 rpm.

The Bajaj Pulsar 220F gets a 260 mm disc brake in the front and a 230 mm disc in the rear. With a 15-litre fuel tank, the bike has a kerb weight of 150 kg.
