2017 BMW 4 Series Coupe (LCI) at the IAA 2017 - Live

BMW is showcasing the 2017 BMW 4 Series Coupe (F32 LCI) at the IAA 2017 in Frankfurt. The facelifted model was launched last January and is currently on sale across the globe. As you will see below, changes are limited but freshen up the exterior and interior.

New to the 4 Series facelift are the Snapper Rocks Blue and Sunset Orange exterior colours, and a sportier front apron for Sport and Luxury Lines. Bi-LED headlights come standard while adaptive full-LED headlights with a better beam range of the street are an option. The DRL design closely resembles the 4 Series design study concept unveiled before the production model went on sale. At the back, the taillamps also feature full LED technology designed around the BMW-typical L-shape.

Inside, the facelifted 4 Series can be had with a multifunctional instrument display, something not offered in models below the 5 Series. Also new are the latest iDrive generation with tile optics, double stitching on the instrument panel, three new upholstery colours together with three new interior trim options, and an upgraded steering wheel.

Mechanically, the only few notable changes include a stiffer suspension for better handling without compromising on ride comfort. This also applies to the M Sport suspension and the optional Adaptive suspension. BMW also claims that it has better straight-line stability and a more communicative steering system. High-performance tires are available as an option from the factory for models above the BMW 430d and BMW 430i.

The regular 4 Series range is available with three petrol engines: BMW 420i, BMW 430i and BMW 440i, and three diesel options: BMW 420d, BMW 430d, and BMW 435d xDrive. Power output ranges from 184 hp in the BMW 420i up to 326 hp in the BMW 440i. All variants come with an 8-speed automatic gearbox as standard, while xDrive is optional on select models.
