Autobild has posted a new rendering of the upcoming 2017 BMW 5 Series sedan, which is expected to debut towards the end of 2016, with the venue being narrowed down to the 2016 Paris Motor Show in October.

The 2017 BMW 5 Series could debut at the 2016 Paris Motor Show in October.

The rendering draws heavy inspiration from the 2016 BMW 7 Series, and will be an evolutionary upgrade over the current model. Its front-end features sleek LED headlamps (optional laser lighting), large BMW kidney grille with active cooling, and simple bumper design, while the rear gets OLED taillamps and cutouts for chrome finished taillpipes

The new 5 Series is certain to ride on BMW's latest CLAR platform sourced from the 7 Series, which integrates materials such as carbonfibre, aluminium, magnesium and high-strength steel. Thanks to the new platform, the next BMW 5 Series is reported to be 100 kg lighter than the current model.
