2017 BMW 5 Series (G30) interior spotted for the first time - Spied
Appears to draw influence from 2016 BMW 7 Series.
A test mule of the 2017 BMW 5 Series (G30) has been spotted by Fabrice Bichocchi, who also managed to snap the interior of the upcoming model.
Although it appears to be covered up, what is easily noticeable is the freestanding iDrive infotainment display, which could support touch and air gestures. The steering wheel is similar to the one in the 2016 BMW 7-Series, and it also gets an updated instrument cluster display.
The 2017 BMW 5 Series will ride on the CLAR platform sourced from the 2016 BMW 7 Series. It could feature carbon fiber construction in some portions of its body for lighter weight and better strength. Exterior features could include optional Laser headlamps, larger BMW kidney grilles, LED taillamps, larger exhaust tips, and more chrome treatment.

Under the hood, BMW will offer a fuel efficient range of four cylinder petrol and diesel engines, and straight six twin turbo engines. Reports claim that the next generation BMW M5 will output over 600 hp from a V8 engine, while a plug-in hybrid variant with a 4– or 3-cylinder engine paired to an electric motor(s) is likely to be offered as well.
