IAB reader spots the 2017 Ford EcoSport in Red, Blue and Brown body colours
Facelifted Ford EcoSport will launch in India in the festival season.
IAB reader Alok Garg has snapped three pre-production test mules of the facelifted Ford EcoSport in Ghaziabad, UP. While two test mules feature Golden Bronze and Kinetic Blue colours that are from the current colour palette, new to the facelifted EcoSport is the Arpoadar Red offered overseas.
The Golden Bronze and Arpoadar Red test mules also have different 16-inch alloy rim designs, although it is unlikely that the new Ecosport would offer two alloy options in the top-end grade. The Kinetic Blue example seems based on a lower variant (like the Trend) inferred from the lack of roof rails, projector headlights, LED DRLs and plastic silver finish for the grille surround and slats instead of chrome.
If you look closely, all three models have a dash-top module in the centre console, affirming an 8-inch floating touchscreen in top-end models running SYNC3, and a 2-DIN audio system with a small display in lower models. It also appears that Ford will drop the all-black interior for a dual-tone beige and black colour combination, judging by the beige seats and door cards.

Ford may carry forward the current engine lineup, which includes the 1.5L Ti-VCT four-cylinder petrol engine, 1.5L TDCi four-cylinder turbodiesel engine and the 1.0L three-cylinder EcoBoost engine, all equipped with a 5-speed manual gearbox as standard, while a 6-speed DCT will continue to be exclusive to the 1.5L Ti-VCT. Expect mileage to be more or less similar to the current EcoSport’s 15.85 km/L (1.5 petrol), 18.88 km/L (1.0L EcoBoost), 22.27 km/L (1.5 Diesel).
Ford is expected to bring in the new EcoSport in the festive season of the year.
