Ford's latest infotainment system to make it to its smallest SUV.

Citing Jeremy Schofield, Manager, SUV Communications, Ford, a fresh report from Autocar reveals several new details of the new Ford EcoSport.

The 2017 Ford EcoSport's exterior will have cues borrowed from the Ford Edge and Ford Kuga.

Mr. Schofield told the British publication that the 2017 Ford EcoSport will feature a face similar to its larger siblings, the Ford Edge and Ford Kuga. The Ford Kuga itself received a facelift earlier this year with cues borrowed from the Ford Edge. The report asserts that the facelifted Ford EcoSport will incorporate the company's latest SYNC 3 infotainment system in all markets.

The facelifted Ford EcoSport will soldier on with the current 1.0-litre EcoBoost, 1.5-litre Duratec and 1.5-litre Duratorq (diesel) engines in Europe. In South American markets though, a new 1.5-litre 'Dragon' naturally aspirated three-cylinder petrol engine will be introduced.

In Brazil, the Ford EcoSport is offered with a four-wheel drive system. Autocar UK suggests that this option may be introduced in more markets with the facelift, but its availability could be reserved to top-end models. The EcoSport would be the smallest SUV in India to offer a four-wheel drive system, if this feature is made available.

The facelifted Ford EcoSport (rendered) is said to be powered with a new 1.5-litre 'Dragon' naturally aspirated petrol engine.

The 2017 Ford EcoSport is expected to break cover at the Sao Paulo Auto Show which opens to the press on November 8. It will go on sale internationally in early 2017, while its Indian launch is likely later that year.

Going by reports, the EcoSport will enter the U.S. market, with the compact SUV sourced from India.
