2017 Honda CR-V rendered
Expected to be unveiled in 2017.
Carscoops has made another rendering of the 2017 Honda CR-V, which are based on spyshots of the test mule that was caught testing in the U.S. It is expected to be unveiled either late this year or in early 2017, and will go on sale in the U.S next year.
The exterior of the new CR-V is an evolutionary jump forward, and draws cues from Honda's latest products like the Honda Civic. The design suggests that Honda is keeping the design familiar yet contemporary, which is usually the approach taken for a volume-selling model.
While the front-end features Honda's Solid Wing Grille design flanked by LED headlamps, the rear end has new L-shaped tail lamps, bold chrome accent and repositioned registration plate. The CR-V's wheelbase will be stretched by 80 mm, so as to accommodate a third row of seats for top-end grades, one report said.

The next gen CR-V will be based on the new Honda Civic's modular platform, and could source the 1.5L Turbo engine from the mid-size sedan. A range-topping 2.0L Turbo as well as a N/A 2.4L VTEC engine is rumored to be available too. An EarthDreams CVT could be the only transmission option fitted, while an AWD system will be optional.
A diesel variant with the current 1.6-liter i-DTEC motor could continue serving in Europe. The new CR-V will reportedly be manufactured in India at 65 percent localization and launch for sale in 2017.
