The fifth incarnation of the Honda CR-V features an evolutionary design transformation. Up front, the 2017 CR-V features a new upper grille, reshaped bumper, significantly larger air dam grille and moderately redesigned headlights surrounded by a wing-shaped LED daytime running light array.

Not much has changed on the sides, but the reshaped quarter glass does provide a sportier appeal. The rear-end is perhaps the most changed part of the exterior, sporting L-shaped tail lamps, new tailgate with a full-width chrome applique, sportier spoiler and dual exhausts.

The interior sees an overhaul. Along with design and technological changes, it is more upmarket with the use of upgraded materials throughout, including a new soft-touch instrument panel and seats with more detailed stitching.

The redesigned instrument panel incorporates a colour TFT driver information display. There's a 7-inch touchscreen Display Audio infotainment system featuring Android OS and smartphone integration compatibility for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, along with a physical volume knob and new Honda Satellite-Linked Navigation System co-developed with Garmin.

Key comfort and convenience features include remote engine start, heated door mirrors, electric parking brake, 8-way power adjustable driver's seat, 4-way adjustable lumbar support and heating function for the front seats, dual-zone climate control, and rear USB charging ports (2.4 A each).

The 2017 Honda CR-V will be available with a 2.4-litre naturally aspirated four-cylinder petrol engine that produces 184 hp and 180 lb.-ft. (244.05 Nm) of torque and a 1.5-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine that develops 190 hp and 179 lb.-ft. (242.69 Nm) of torque. Both engines are paired to a continuously variable transmission.
