2017 Hyundai i20 Active (facelift) - Rendering

Will carryover over the Elite i20's facelifted elements.

Following our render of the facelifted 2018 Hyundai Elite i20 comes the tougher and rugged sibling - the 2018 Hyundai i20 Active - from IAB's Shoeb R Kalania. The render gives an idea of what Hyundai's pseudo-crossover could look like with the Elite i20's facelifted elements.

The 2018 Hyundai i20 Active will continue sporting several unique design elements such as a hexagonal grille with black slats and honeycomb mesh, new fog lamps, more aggressive bumper design with silver garnish, new diamond-cut alloy rims and the registration plate at the rear repositioned to the tailgate.

At the tape it will be identical to the outgoing model, which measures 3,995 mm long, 1,760 mm wide, 1,555 mm high, has a wheelbase of 2,570 mm and ground clearance of 190 mm. Inside, it could get new upholstery and trim options, updated multi-info display and a new 7-inch touchscreen system with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, MirrorLink and satellite navigation.

The Active's engine lineup is likely to be carried over from the outgoing car, which comprises of the 84 PS 1.2L Kappa petrol paired with a 5-speed manual and the 90 PS 1.4L turbodiesel unit paired with a 6-speed manual. Fuel mileage is also expected to be unchanged: 19 km/L for 1.4 Diesel, and 15 km/L for 1.2 Petrol.

It's unclear if the i20 Active will land alongside the Elite i20, or arrive a few months after. The new Elite has begun testing in India and is rumoured to go on sale in 2018, and could make its local debut at the Auto Expo in early February.
