2017 Hyundai Verna bookings officially open in India

Hyundai has announced that it has started accepting bookings for the 2017 Hyundai Verna in India. The all-new Verna was announced at an event in Chennai today.

There are two engine options for the 2017 Hyundai Verna: 1.6-litre Dual VTVT petrol and 1.6-litre U2 CRDi VGT diesel.

The fifth generation Hyundai Verna features a completely redesigned exterior and interior, and rides on an all-new "K2" platform. There are two engine options for the 2017 Hyundai Verna: 1.6-litre Dual VTVT petrol and 1.6-litre U2 CRDi VGT diesel. The petrol engine produces 123 PS and 130 Nm of torque. The diesel engine develops 128 PS and 245 Nm of torque. 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic are the transmission choices. The 1.4-litre petrol and diesel engines and the 5-speed manual and 4-speed automatic transmissions are discontinued.

Hyundai is yet to release the 2017 Hyundai Verna' s brochure, but a lot of information is already out. The petrol model is available in six configurations: E, EX, Auto EX, SX, SX (O) and Auto SX (O). The diesel model is also offered in six configurations: E, EX, Auto EX, SX, Auto SX+ and SX (O).

Projector headlamps with LED DRLs, Cascading grille, 16-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels, LED tail lamps and sunroof are the exterior highlights. Comfort and convenience features include cruise control, ventilated seats (a segment-first), 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with navigation, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, MirrorLink and voice control, rear AC vents and rear curtain.

The 2017 Hyundai Verna is available in total 12 configurations, six in petrol and six in diesel.

Hyundai is taking pre-orders for the 2017 Hyundai Verna in India for a deposit of INR 25,000. Polar White, Fiery Red, Star Dust, Sleek Silver, Thunder Black, Siena Brown and Flame Orange are the colour choices. Sales launch of the all-new Verna is on August 22.
