2017 Hyundai Verna specifications have been revealed via Team BHP. The latest info confirms that the new Verna will retain the engine options of the car it replaces along with automatic and manual transmission choices.

2017 Hyundai Verna specifications
The specifications are yet to be confirmed.

According to the information shared, the 2017 Hyundai Verna petrol gets the 1.4 L Kappa and 1.6 L Gamma Petrol engines. The former will have a power output of 107 PS and a peak torque of 135 Nm, while the latter puts out 123 PS and 155 Nm. A 5-speed manual transmission will be standard while a 4-speed torque converter will be optional on the 1.6 L petrol variant. These specifications are identical to the current car.

As for the 2017 Hyundai Verna diesel, it gets the 1.4 L U2 CRDi diesel with 90 PS and 220 Nm on tap and a 1.6 L U2 CRDi diesel with power and torque output of 128 PS and 260 Nm respectively. Apart from the standard 6-speed manual transmission, a 4-speed automatic will be offered with the 1.6 diesel variant.

At the time of its global debut in Canada in February, Hyundai revealed that the 1.6 L petrol will come mated to either a 6-speed manual transmission or an improved 6-speed automatic transmission. The latter appears to have not made it to the Indian version. Also, there have been unconfirmed reports suggesting the sedan will benefit from mild hybrid technology. But with no incentives for hybrids or mild hybrids after GST, the 2017 Hyundai Verna may remain as is.
