2017 Hyundai Xcent launched at INR 5.38 lakhs [Gallery Updated]
Hyundai Xcent was first showcased in February 2014.
Hyundai India has launched the 2017 Hyundai Xcent with cosmetic updates, new features and a new 1.2-litre diesel mill. The petrol version is priced in the range of INR 5.38 lakhs to INR 7.09 lakhs while the diesel trims range between INR 6.28 to INR 8.41 lakhs (all prices ex-showroom, Delhi).

The 2017 Hyundai Xcent gets a larger front grille than the new Hyundai Grand i10 and has a stark resemblance to the Hyundai Elantra. The sub-4 metre compact sedan also gains new bumpers, horizontal fog lamps, LED daytime running lights, new diamond cut alloy wheels, restyled boot lid, two-piece wraparound taillamps and a connecting chrome strip.
The car also gets first in segment wheel air curtains for better aerodynamic stability and a shark fin antenna. Features include a 7-inch touchscreen AV system with smartphone connectivity, steering mounted controls, smartphone holder with charger, rear power outlet, battery saver and a gear shift indicator. Other features include dual airbags as standard, rear aircon vents, cooled glove box, rear defogger, reverse parking camera and sensors, 407-litre large boot space and rear seat armrest with cup holder.

Powering the 2017 Hyundai Xcent is a 1.2-litre petrol Kappa four-cylinder coupled to a 5-speed manual and a 4-speed automatic unit producing 83 PS of power at 6,000 rpm and 113.76 Nm of torque at 4,000 rpm. The fuel efficiency is a claimed 20.14 km/l for the manual and 17.36 km/l for the automatic (ARAI figures).
The 1.2-litre three cylinder diesel mill from the Grand i10 replaces the old 1.1-litre unit. Coupled to a 5-speed gearbox the engine is capable of producing 75 PS of maximum power at 4,000 rpm and 190 Nm of peak torque in the range of 1,750 to 2,250 rpm. Its fuel efficiency of the diesel is claimed at 25.4 km/l (ARAI certified).
