2017 Kawasaki Versys X300 showcased at BIMS 2017

The Kawasaki Versys X300 looks significantly different from the rest of the Versys range.

Kawasaki Thailand has showcased the new 2017 Kawasaki Versys X300 at the ongoing Bangkok International Motor Show. The dual-purpose motorcycle was showcased for the first time at EICMA 2016.

Cradled in the new frame is a 296 cc DOHC, parallel twin mill sourced from the Kawasaki Ninja 300. While the output for Thailand has not been revealed, the European model, coupled to a 6-speed gearbox is capable of producing 40 PS of maximum power at 11,500 rpm and 25.7 Nm of peak torque at 10,000 rpm.

The bike tips the scales at 175 kg and has a large 17-litre fuel tank. The Kawasaki Versys X300 has a ground clearance of 180 mm and has a seat height of 845 mm. The bike is suspended over long travel 41 mm suspension up front and a bottom link uni-trak monoshock in the rear with adjustable preload.

Brakes in the Kawasaki Versys X300 include a 290 mm petal disc in the front and a 220 mm petal unit in the rear. The bike gets a 19-inch front wheel and a 17-inch rear wheel. The slipper clutch is available as standard along with ABS.

The Kawasaki Versys X300 is priced at THB 199,000 and goes up to THB 227,000.
