2017 KTM Duke 390 seen in a new promo video

2017 KTM Duke 390 is expected to be launched in India early next year.

KTM unveiled the second-generation KTM Duke 390 at EICMA 2016. The naked monster wants to be the benchmark in the segment and its intentions are made clear in this new promotional video.

The lightweight steel trellis frame houses a 373.2 cc single cylinder, liquid cooled, fuel injected mill coupled with a slipper clutch and a 6-speed gearbox. The output remains unchanged and the maximum power produced is the same 44 PS. Features include ride by wire, switchable ABS, LED headlamps and a TFT instrumentation and can be synchronised with your smartphone.

The wheelbase of 1,357 mm is 10 mm less than the outgoing version and this will help the KTM Duke 390 attack corners proficiently. The bike also gains a large 320 mm front disc while the fuel tank can now store 13.4 litre of fuel (up from 11 litre).

The designers at Kiska have turned the KTM Duke 390 into the most aggressive offering in the segment. Targeting a younger audience base, the new tank shrouds have a dynamic and assertive presence bound to make heads turn.

One factor where a few fans might be disappointed is in terms of acoustics. The exhaust note may not go down too well with a lot of prospective customers.
