Cartoq, citing its sources, is reporting that MSIL will take bookings for the 2017 Maruti S-Cross (facelift) on 1 September at the NEXA outlets. The car has been spotted on test locally in recent months and reportedly confirmed for a festive season launch by a top MSIL official.

Cartoq reports that the new S-Cross is not expected with an automatic transmission. The report is also unsure about a petrol engine option stating that Maruti is testing a naturally aspirated 1.5L petrol engine, and that it could be seen on the facelift.

Body changes on the 2017 Maruti S-Cross will mirror the Euro-spec version that ushered in last year.

The 2017 Maruti S-Cross gets a number of visual changes on the outside to give it a bolder look. The radiator grille is redone with vertical chrome slats and chrome surround, flanked by more expressive headlamps with LED, LED daytime running lights, a muscular hood, stretched lower grille and a sportier bumper. At the rear, changes are restricted to tail lamps with new graphics and LED lighting.

Besides new seat fabric, there are no aesthetic changes to the interior. The Smartplay infotainment system will gain factory-fitted Android Auto compatibility, besides Apple CarPlay.

The current engine options are the 66 kW (88.51 hp) 1.3-litre DDiS 200 and 88 kW (118.01 hp) 1.6-litre DDiS 320 diesel. The former is paired to a five-speed gearbox, and the latter gets a six-speed unit.
