2017 Mercedes E Class spotted in Dubai
The 2017 Mercedes E Class, in design, is a smaller S Class.

Underpinned by the MRA platform (Mercedes Rear Wheel drive architecture) that first came on the new C-Class, the 2017 Mercedes E Class, in construction, is expected to be more intensive of high-strength steel and aluminium. The result will be a significant loss in weight, by an anticipated figure of 100 kg.

The exterior of the next generation E Class is upgraded to the company's current school of design, making it look similar to the C- and S-Class models. This includes the almond-shaped Multibeam LED headlights.
