India-bound 2017 Mercedes E Class (W213) interior undisguised - Spied

Combines the S Class and C Class interior designs.

The 2017 Mercedes E Class has been spotted multiple number of times over the past few months, giving a good look at its exterior design. However, there have been no spyshots of its interior, until now.

Courtesy of Paultan, a trio of spyshots has surfaced online, revealing the final interior design. And, like the exterior, the interior also combines the design cues of the S Class and C Class, therefore highlighting its middle-ground positioning in the range.

The upper half of the dashboard is taken straight from the S Class's design book, featuring quad central vents, a 12.1 inch COMAND infotainment display and an instrument cluster. It's likely that higher variants will get a 12.1 inch Driver's display to replace the out-of-place instrument cluster.

The flowing center console appears to be borrowed from the C Class, which is finished in gloss wood trim and has buttons neatly arranged across. The Touchpad and rotary dial for the COMAND infotainment system is located on the floor console.

The new E Class has, reportedly, grown 55 mm longer than the outgoing model.

The 2017 Mercedes E Class will be as feature packed as its bigger brother. It will also debut Mercedes’s Remote Parking Pilot that enables the car to self-park in a given area, a “Car-to-X” communication system, as well a host of safety features like Active Brake Assist, Evasive Steering Assist, PRE-SAFE Plus, beltbag (airbag in the belt), and Attention Assist.

Its debut will, reportedly, take place at the 2016 Detroit Motor Show (2016 NAIAS), and will hit showrooms in the middle of 2016.
