Peugeot's compact hatchback and estate get their mid-life update.

Peugeot this week unveiled the new Peugeot 308, which although it calls a new-generation model, is facelift of the second generation model that was introduced in 2013. Here's a visual comparison between the 2017 Peugeot 308 and 2013 Peugeot 308.

The Peugeot 308 has received only minor exterior changes with the facelift.

The Peugeot 308 has received minor exterior changes with the facelift. Up front, the 2017 Peugeot 308 features redesigned grille with the Lion badge positioned in the centre, more aggressive bumper, trapezoidal fog lamps and resculpted hood. The profile and rear look mostly unchanged.

Features

The 2017 Peugeot 308 is available in six grades: Access, Active, Allure, GT Line, GT and GTi. The new model is equipped with features like Mirror Screen which duplicates the smartphone on the infotainment system via Apple CarPlay, Android Auto or MirrorLink, Visiopark 1 with 180-degree rear camera and new 3D satellite navigation system with control and TomTom Traffic. The new Peugeot 308 is the first PSA group model equipped with cruise control including a stop function (AT)/30 km/h function (MT). It has Active Safety Brake and Active Lane Departure Warning systems too.

The 2017 Peugeot 308 gets new BlueHDi 180 S&S diesel engine with an all-new EAT8 8-speed automatic transmission developed by Aisin. The three-cylinder petrol engine has undergone a major upgrade for higher real-life fuel economy and more efficient pollution reduction. The PureTech 130 S&S engine is now paired to a new 6-speed manual transmission. The facelifted Peugeot 308 debuts the PSA Group's new BlueHDi 130 S&S four-cylinder diesel engine.

The 2017 Peugeot 308 and 2017 Peugeot 308 SW are made at the Sochaux plant in France.
