2017 Skoda Rapid front mask exposed in clear spyshots, bookings open

Skoda dealerships are now accepting bookings for the 2017 Skoda Rapid (facelift), ahead of its launch that will take place on November 3, reports Overdrive. The token amount for a booking is INR 25,000.
The 2017 Skoda Rapid features a new face, which looks identical to the Euro-spec Skoda Fabia. It comprises of a wider ‘butterfly’ grille directly flanked by angular headlamps with projector lighting, small strip of LED DRLs, and a new bumper design with angular foglamps and wider mesh.
The interior will be carried forward from the outgoing Rapid, complete with a dual-tone black-and-beige color scheme. The range-topping variant will feature a touchscreen entertainment system with MirrorLink and Bluetooth support, GPS-guided navigation and reverse parking camera.

As for engine lineup, a notable change is the introduction of an updated 1.5L TDI engine sourced from the VW Ameo, which produces 110 PS and 250 Nm of torque. It will be available with a 5-speed manual or 7-speed DSG. A petrol variant with the 1.6L four cylinder MPI petrol engine will also be on sale, which is paired with a 5-speed manual or 6-speed automatic.
