2017 Skoda Rapid to gain new features - Report

Skoda Rapid was updated last year with new looks.

Skoda India has updated the 2017 Skoda Rapid with new features like reverse parking camera, soft touch boot release button and new 16-inch alloy wheels, reveals an article in AutosArena.

The new features will only be available in the top end Style variant, which comes standard with chrome trim on steering wheel, projector headlamps, LED daytime running lights, 6.5-inch display for the infotainment system with Mirrorlink technology, cruise control, automatic front wipers, amberglow footwell illumination and cooled glove box.

The Skoda Rapid is powered by a 1.6-litre MPI petrol mill producing 105 PS of power and 153 Nm of torque, while the diesel variant has a 1.5-litre TDI mill producing 110 PS of maximum power and 250 Nm of peak torque. Both the engines are paired with a 5-speed manual gearbox as standard. For automatic options, the petrol variant can be had with a 6-speed automatic, while the diesel variant is available with a 7-speed DSG transmission.

The brakes include a disc brake up front and a drum setup in the rear while ABS is standard across the range. Hill Hold Control is available only in the automatic version while Electronic Stability Control is offered only with the 7-speed DSG box mated to the diesel mill.

Colour options for the Skoda Rapid includes Cappucino Biege, Silk Blue, Carbon Steel, Flash Red, Brilliant Silver and Candy White.

The powertrain in the 2017 Skoda Rapid remains the same 1.6-litre MPI petrol and 1.5-litre TDI diesel.

The report adds that the updated 2017 Skoda Rapid will be priced around INR 35,000 more than the current Rapid Style.
