2017 Suzuki Nex spotted, launching in Indonesia on June 9 - Report

The Suzuki Nex was first introduced in Indonesia back in 2011.

A report in IwanBanaran claims that Suzuki Indonesia will be launching a new product on June 9, 2017. While it is a bit early to expect the new Suzuki V-Strom 250, spy pictures shared by TMC Blog suggests that the new product could be the 2017 Suzuki Nex.

The 2017 Suzuki Nex bears a disc brake in the front and a drum setup in the rear.

The Suzuki Nex, before its discontinuation, was powered by an 113 cc single cylinder air-cooled mill coupled to a CVT gearbox. The engine was capable of producing 9.4 PS of power and 8.7 Nm of torque. Powertrain details for the 2017 Suzuki Nex though remain sketchy, and there is a good chance that Suzuki Indonesia might continue with the same mill to save cost.

The spy shot reveals that the Nex badging is present near the tail section of the scooter. The design philosophy remains mostly unchanged, and the scooter is expected to be available in at least two colours, Black and Chocolate Brown.

Brakes in the 2017 Suzuki Nex will include a single disc up front and a drum setup in the rear. Suspension setup includes a telescopic fork in the front and a monoshock in the rear. The heat shield on the exhaust canister has been redesigned.

The 2017 Suzuki Nex will continue as an entry-level scooter, and the powertrain option may remain the same 113 cc carburetted mill.
