2017 Suzuki Swift (Maruti Swift) spotted with clear-lens tail lamps

Will debut at the 2017 Geneva Motor Show.

The current Suzuki Swift will bow out in the coming months, as Suzuki is working on a new generation model in Europe with plans to introduce it reportedly at the Geneva Motor Show next March. The fourth-gen Suzuki Swift will be based on the Suzuki Baleno's high-rigidity and lightweight new generation platform.

The 2017 Suzuki Swift (2017 Maruti Swift) will feature an evolutionary design, leaked renderings have revealed. The all-new model appears to be more angular and mature, but retains its familiar shape and size. The rear-doors would have C-pillar integrated door handles this time.

Inside, the next-gen Suzuki Swift features a completely revamped interior. New design 3-spoke, multifunction steering wheel, redesigned instrument panel consisting of a colour driver information display between the speedometer and tachometer, redesigned dashboard and centre console and a new entertainment/infotainment system, have been identified on spyshots.

The Fiat-sourced 1.3-litre diesel engine could be replaced by a new 1.5-litre diesel engine developed in-house.

The fourth-gen Suzuki Swift will be based on the Suzuki Baleno's high-rigidity and lightweight new generation platform. Installed on this platform, will likely be 3-4 powertrains, beginning with the K10C 1.0-litre Boosterjet turbocharged three-cylinder petrol, K12C 1.2-litre DUALJET naturally aspirated four-cylinder petrol, K14C-DITC 1.4-litre Boosterjet turbocharged four-cylinder petrol (Suzuki Swift Sport variant) and a new 1.5-litre diesel engine developed in-house.

In India, the current 1.2-litre petrol engine with the inclusion of SHVS is expected to continue along with the new diesel engine, when the 2017 Swift goes on sale next year.
