Next-gen 2017 Yamaha V-Ixion rendered with FZ25 like tank extension

The Yamaha V-Ixion is a naked roadster sold in Indonesia since 2007.

While the original model of the Yamaha V-Ixion was introduced in the first decade of the new millennium, the bike got a mild refresh in the form of the V-Ixion Advance in 2015. As per Indonesian reports, a next-gen Yamaha V-Ixion is expected to launch in the archipelago this year, and the motorcycle has been rendered by MotoBlast.

The 2017 Yamaha V-Ixion rendering has a clear resemblance of the Yamaha FZ 25.

The rendering of the next-gen Yamaha V-Ixion has been styled after the Yamaha FZ 25 which was launched in India on January 24, 2017. A clear resemblance is seen on the tank extensions, while the headlamp has a common point of origin, the Yamaha Xabre.

The present generation Yamaha V-Ixion Advance gets a 149.8 cc SOHC engine gets liquid cooling and fuel injection. Coupled to a 5-speed gearbox, the engine is capable of producing 16.6 PS of maximum power at 8,500 rpm and 14.5 Nm of peak torque. This powertrain is also shared with the Xabre and the Yamaha R15 v2.0 sold in India.

A special edition of the Yamaha V-Ixion Advance was launched recently.

With upside down forks up front, the bike will get a premium makeover. At present the machine tips the scales at 131 kg, and it would be interesting to see how the updated machine’s weight is kept under check.
