2017 Yamaha V-Ixion spotted in Indonesia sans camouflage

The Yamaha V-Ixion is Yamaha’s naked roadster with a Yamaha R15 powerplant.

With an official launch set to happen soon, the 2017 Yamaha V-Ixion has been spotted completely sans camouflage by Instagram user hm_ali_ch. The bike gains a sharper design philosophy and a new engine from the Yamaha R15 v3.0.

The Yamaha V-Ixion update looks more muscular than the outgoing version.

The 2017 Yamaha V-Ixion, contrary to expectations, does not get upside down forks and continues to have standard telescopic forks. Moving away from the 149.8 cc mill from the Yamaha R15 v2.0, the new Yamaha V-Ixion is expected to be powered by a 155.1 cc mill from the R15 v3.0. The engine is capable of producing 19.31 PS of maximum power at 10,000 rpm and 14.7 Nm of peak torque at 8,500 rpm.

The 2017 Yamaha V-Ixion is also expected to get Variable Valve Actuation (VVA) which will help the bike churn out the ideal amount of power across the rev range. The headlamp continues to have a halogen lamp instead of a fancy LED setup.

The bike gets disc brakes all around but the test unit does not get any ABS ring. The design philosophy is muscular and neat.
