Details on the 2017 Yamaha R6 are scarce at the moment. From the teaser, what we can gather is that the next gen R6 will feature new LED headlamp and taillamp inspired by the more powerful Yamaha R1 and thorough redesign of its fairing for a new look. It's indeed a welcome change since the styling of the R6 has remain untouched for the last 10 years.

The new teaser further raises anticipation by including the exhaust note from its high-revving motor. It's unclear if it will continue with a four-cylinder unit or feature an all new three-cylinder engine as the rumors suggest. The current R6 produces 122 hp and 57.5 Nm of torque from a 599 cc four-cylinder engine paired with a 6-speed gearbox.
