2018 Audi A1 Rendered ahead of Geneva IMS 2018 Premiere

Auto Moto has created a rendering of Audi's next-generation entry-level A1 hatchback, ahead of its world premiere at the Geneva International Motor Show 2018 on March 6.

2018 Audi A1
According to reports, the new A1 will be based on the affordable MQB A0 platform shared with the new Seat Ibiza and Volkswagen Polo mk6.

The A1 is one of Audi's oldest products in its current portfolio, so the time has come for a newer generation model to take its place. According to reports, it will be based on the affordable MQB A0 platform shared with the new Seat Ibiza and VW Polo. Also, it is not going to be available with three doors; rather the regular 5-door Sportback. As its based on the MQB A0 platform, expect dimensions to be larger than before; somewhere around the size of the new Polo. It will be interesting to see how Audi will be able to distinguish the A1 and A3 hatchbacks.

The rendering integrates a new face influenced by the Audi A8, featuring a large hexagonal grille flanked by LED headlights, creases across the body-work and Q2-inspired dual tone colour combinations. Inside, expect Audi to integrate high-quality materials and state-of-the-art technology worthy of a compact luxury hatchback.

One can expect the new A1's engine range to include a 1.0 TSI three-cylinder turbo motor with 115 PS, a 1.5 TSI four-cylinder motor with 150 PS, and an Audi S1 variant packing a 2.0 TSI 4-cylinder motor with 250 PS. Transmission options include a 6-speed manual, 7-speed DSG or 6-speed DSG (2.0L). The S1 variant will come equipped with Audi's Quattro AWD system as standard.
