2018 Datsun GO+ (facelift) spied testing on the expressway [Video]
Following its Indonesian launch in May 2018, the 2018 Datsun GO+ (facelift) reached India for road testing in June. Youtube channel Power Stroke PS has uploaded a video showing a a fully camouflaged test mule that was spotted on an expressway in South India.
The 2018 Datsun GO+ has been given subtle styling updates. The facelift features a bigger grille, reshaped lower grille, bolder front bumper, vertically positioned LED DRLs, alloy wheels, updated rear bumper and wiper & wash. The LED DRLs, alloy wheels and rear wiper are not available on the pre-facelift version. Unlike the Indian version, the Indonesian-spec model features ORVMs with integrated turn indicators.
The interior gets an overhaul sporting an improved design and more equipment. The dashboard is new having a lockable glovebox, updated centre console, touchscreen infotainment unit besides a new instrument console with a tachometer.
In all likelihood, the 2018 Datsun GO+ will have structural reinforcements for a higher crash safety rating, besides upgrading to ELR type rear seat belts. Datsun India could also equip the facelift with driver-side airbag, speed alert system, parking sensors and co-driver seatbelt reminder to adhere to the more stringent safety norms that come into effect on 1 July 2019.
The Datsun GO+ is powered by a 1.2-litre, three-cylinder, naturally aspirated petrol engine that outputs a maximum power of 68 PS at 5,000 rpm & a peak torque of 104 Nm at 4,000 rpm. The engine comes mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. The specifications are likely to remain the same for the facelift. Launching an AMT option can possibly help the company boost the sales of the entry-level MPV which is selling about 450 units a month.
