2018 Honda Grom Spied in India

The 2018 Honda Grom has been spied in India for the first time, courtesy Gaadiwaadi.

The test mule is draped in all black and is seen with an optional top box as well. The 2018 model of the Grom gets new LED headlight, two-step seat, bodywork and exhaust. A lot of the Grom’s design elements has been carried over by its Indian cousin, the Honda Navi.

Powering the 2018 Honda Grom (aka MSX125) is a 124.9cc single cylinder SOHC, two-valve engine with fuel injection. The engine is capable of generating 9.79 PS of peak power at 7,000 rpm and 10.9 Nm of maximum torque at 5,500 rpm. The powerplant pairs with a 4-speed gearbox.

For suspension, the Grom employs 31 mm inverted fork at the front and a monoshock at the rear. The bike rolls on 12-inch alloy wheels shod with 120-section front and 130-section rear tyres. Brakes include a single 220 mm disc with two piston calliper and ABS at the front. The rear gets a 190 mm disc with a single piston calliper.

The bike retails in the US market at a starting price of USD 3,349.

The bike gets a 5.5-litre fuel tank with a claimed fuel efficiency of 66 kmpl. The kerb weight of the bike stands at 106 kg. In the US market, the price of the 2018 Grom starts at USD 3,349 (INR 2.15 lakhs). Honda has not revealed any plans of launching the bike in India. If Honda plans to bring the bike in India, the high-quality cycle parts might make it prohibitively expensive.
