Honda has revealed the new 2018 Honda PCX125 for the European market. The scooter features a single-channel ABS with a 220 mm front disc and a 130 mm rear drum.

In Europe, Honda has sold over 140,000 units of the PCX since its arrival in 2010.

Compared to the 2017 version, the 2018 model retains the characteristic silhouette of the PCX. However, the front fascia of the 2018 model is sportier, with sleek LED DRL merging into the LED headlamp. The tail light and indicators are LED as well. The instrumentation is a new easy-to-read inverse LCD unit. The large left-hand fairing pocket is large enough to hold a drink can and now has an extended lid (compared to the old design) to allow the rider to access the contents easily. It also contains a 12V AC adaptor. The underseat storage is up by 1 litre, to 28 litres.

The 2018 Honda PCX125 is built on a new steel duplex frame design. The frame rides on upgraded suspension, with twin shock absorber setup at the back; and 31 mm telescopic fork up front. Powering the scooter is a 125 cc SOHC engine with liquid cooling and fuel injection. It produces more peak power with no loss of bottom-end torque compared to the earlier model. The peak power stands at 12.2 PS at 8,500 rpm and maximum torque of 11.8 Nm comes in at 5,000 rpm.

Apart from the regular trove of information, the display shows the average fuel consumption as well.

As per WMTC mode, the scooter returns 47.6 km/l, and has an 8-litre fuel tank. This translates to over 400 km of claimed tank range. There’s a selectable Idling Stop System as well. The new 8-spoke cast aluminium wheels wear 100-section front and 120-section rear tyres. Honda is yet to announce the pricing and availability of the scooter. The 2017 iteration costs GBP 2,899 (INR 2.64 lakhs approximately).
