2018 Hyundai i20 (facelift) rendered with new colours & updates

Will have new front and rear fascias.

Following our updated render of the 2018 Hyundai i20 (facelift), IAB's Shoeb R Kalania has created a series of renderings featuring the facelifted car with exterior colours from the current palette. It also features the updated 16-inch alloy rims we have seen in pre-production test mules and other minor updates.

The 2018 Hyundai i20 also features the updated Mercedes-like 16-inch alloy rims seen in the latest pre-production test mules.

The i20 will feature an all-new front fascia featuring Hyundai’s new hexagonal grille with horizontal chrome slats flanked by new swept-back projector headlamps with bolder LED DRLs, and a cleaner bumper design housing a pair of round fog lamps with chrome surrounds. The rear-end will receive updated LED taillamps, while the registration plate mount has been moved up to the tailgate.

We are not expecting drastic changes to the cabin, given that Hyundai has been continuously updating the feature list in the past 12 months. Hyundai could refresh the fabric upholstery, trim materials, and equip a new multi-info display as well as instrument dials. Currently, dual airbags are standard across the range, while ABS is available from Sportz grade and side + curtain airbags exclusively for Asta (O). For the facelifted model, Hyundai could consider equipping ABS in all grades.

Engine options will continue to be the 1.2L Kappa paired with a 5-speed manual, while the diesel variant will retain the 1.4L turbodiesel unit paired with a 6-speed manual. It is unclear if Hyundai will stick to the current strategy for the i20 Automatic (1.4 petrol + 4AT), given its poor demand owing to high price tag while being based on the low-end Magna grade.
