2018 Hyundai i20 (facelift) spotted on test after a pause
Fresh spy pictures of the 2018 Hyundai i20 (facelift) have emerged after a gap of almost four months. HMIL is expected to unveil the mid-life facelift early next year, possibly at the Auto Expo scheduled for February 9, 2018.
The spy shot does not offer much of insight into the cosmetic updates the i20 will receive as part of the facelift. However, the amount of camouflage when compared to previous sightings has reduced. The most noticeable change to the rear section is the migration of the number plate from the bumper to the boot lid. New tail lamps graphics will be another noticeable change to the rear. Test mules have been spotted riding on Mercedes CLA like alloy wheels.
The Hyundai i20 facelift has been spotted testing in Europe as well. Spy pictures reveal an updated fascia with Hyundai's new signature design element - the cascading grille - making an appearance. Expect the nose section to draw inspiration from the likes of the i30 and the new Verna.
Prototypes have been spotted in the past with a camouflaged interior indicating that there might be changes to the dashboard. However, facelifts from Hyundai have not received major updates to the interior in the past, and the 2018 Hyundai i20 could follow the same route. Also, there isn't much to add regarding equipment as the i20 in its current avatar is already reasonably feature loaded.

Engine options will be carried over into the 2018 model. The 1.2 L Kappa petrol and 1.4 L U2 CRDi diesel will continue to power the hatchback along with a 1.4 L Gamma petrol that is exclusively available with a 4-speed automatic.
