Hyundai is rigorously testing its next major launch for India - the 2018 Hyundai Santro (name TBC). The future model was spied up close in Gurugram by Team-BHP forum member Moto$apien recently.

The 2018 Hyundai Santro will slot between the Hyundai Eon and Hyundai Grand i10.

From the profile and the proportions visible in the spy shots, it looks like the 2018 Hyundai Santro (codename: Hyundai AH2) will feature a modern and dynamic design completely different from its predecessor. The new hatchback will slot between the Hyundai Eon and Hyundai Grand i10. It will take the place of the first generation Hyundai i10 that was discontinued in March last year.

The next-gen Hyundai Santro will have a body bigger than the old model (Hyundai Santro Xing), which was 3,565 mm long, 1,525 mm wide and 1,590 mm tall. Reports last year said that Hyundai would offer it with 1.1- and 1.2-litre petrol engines. A 5-speed manual transmission is a given. Also, the company will offer an AMT - a first for a Hyundai in India.

Hyundai will offer the all-new Hyundai Santro with 1.1- and 1.2-litre petrol engines.
