Will go on sale in H1 2017.

The Jeep Wrangler, in the current, third generation avatar, was introduced over a decade back at the 2006 North American International Auto Show. It was followed by the first-ever 4-door Jeep Wrangler, or the Jeep Wrangler Unlimited as we know it, at the 2006 New York International Auto Show. Now, Jeep is working on the fourth generation Jeep Wrangler series, and a speculative rendering from IAB's automotive illustrator Shoeb Kalania shows how the 2018 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited may look like.

The U.S.-spec 2018 Jeep Wrangler will likely be offered with a 3.6-liter naturally aspirated and a 2.0-liter turbocharged gasoline engines.

Spyshots suggest that, as expected, Jeep hasn't drastically changed the Jeep Wrangler's exterior for its fourth generation. The iconic American off-roader will be updated with an evolutionary redesign, and the rendering previews exactly that. Subtle changes are seen related to the grille, bumper, windshield and exterior mirrors. Like now, in its fourth generation too, the 2018 Jeep Wrangler will be based on a body-on-frame platform.

The U.S.-spec 2018 Jeep Wrangler's base model will likely be powered by an upgraded version of the current 3.6-liter naturally aspirated V6 gasoline engine. Stepping up the range, there will be a new 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder "Hurricane" gasoline engine which will be more powerful than the 3.6-liter unit. Interior spyshots of the 2018 Jeep Wrangler suggest that transmission choices will include 6-speed manual and 8-speed automatic.

The 2018 Jeep Wrangler is expected to debut at the 2017 North American International Auto Show in Detroit.
