2018 Mahindra XUV500 (facelift) with new LED DRLs and front grille spied
The 2018 Mahindra XUV500 has appeared in a new spy video posted by YouTube user Official Gamerx. The spy video gives a close look at the facelifted model’s exterior changes.
With the MY2018 update, the Mahindra XUV500 will receive its second facelift. While the current XUV500 has S-shaped LED DRLs, the new XUV500 has a straight LED stripe above the headlamp beams on the edge of the housing. Other changes at the front will include a new radiator grille and a new air dam grille. On the sides, newly designed 10-spoke alloy wheels are expected, while at the rear, spy media has shown a revised license plate housing on the tailgate.
Along with styling changes, the 2018 Mahindra XUV500 will feature performance upgrades. The current model’s 2.2-litre mHawk diesel engine is tuned to deliver 140 hp and around 330 Nm of torque. The new model’s 2.2-litre mHawk diesel engine will reportedly develop 170 hp and around 400 Nm of torque. It’s unknown whether the 1.99-litre version of the current 2.2-litre engine will receive similar upgrades.

Mahindra has not yet announced the 2018 Mahindra XUV500, but reports last year had said that the launch will take place early this year. The company could debut the new model at the Auto Expo 2018 next month.
