2018 Maruti Celerio vs. 2014 Maruti Celerio - Old vs. New

In time of the festive season, Maruti Suzuki has given the Maruti Celerio a facelift to drive up the sales. Here’s a visual comparison between the 2018 Maruti Celerio and the 2014 Maruti Celerio.

The 2018 Maruti Celerio features a refreshed exterior that is not a whole lot different from the old model. The most notable changes are at the front, where the city car now has a newly designed mesh upper grille with chrome garnish at the top, mesh lower grille in a hexagonal shape and a more aggressive bumper with newly designed fog lamp bezels. At the rear, the 2018 Celerio features new bumper and tailgate with a more contemporary design.

The mid-cycle refresh has brought new black and greige interior to the Maruti Celerio. Maruti Suzuki has still refrained the budget hatchback from a touchscreen infotainment system. The company does boast the new model’s high level of safety, though, saying that it meets pedestrian, offset and side impact regulations. Driver-side airbag and driver side seat belt reminder are standard. Front passenger airbag and ABS are available optionally across the range.

The new Maruti Celerio is 3,695 mm long, 1,600 mm wide and 1,560 mm tall. It is 95 mm longer than the pre-facelift model. The K10B 1.0-litre three-cylinder engine continues delivering 50 kW (67.02 hp) and 90 Nm of torque. It still has a CNG-compliant version, tuned to produce 43.5 kW (59 PS) and 78 Nm of torque in CNG mode. Transmission choices still include 5-speed manual and 5-speed automated manual. The AMT option is still limited to the petrol model.
