2018 Maruti Ciaz Facelift - IAB Rendering

The recent sighting of the 2017 Suzuki Alivio in China made us wonder if those changes would be downloaded by the 2018 Maruti Ciaz. IAB's automotive illustrator Shoeb Kalania has created the rendering that shows the sedan with the new face.

A single-frame grille with chrome louvres dominates the nose of the rendered 2018 Maruti Ciaz facelift.

Front of the current version for reference.

The rendered Maruti Ciaz facelift features a large single frame grille with bevelled upper corners and chrome louvres which house the Suzuki logo. The shallower fog lamp enclosures are unified by a black element on the lower lip, shrinking the front splitter. The rendering also adds horizontal LED DRL strips just above the fog lamp enclosures.

The Maruti Ciaz's rear is expected to receive minor updates as well. Speculating based on the 2017 Suzuki Alivio, the rear bumper may get a dual tone look. Updates to the tail lamp would entail an increase in real estate for the stop lights with sleeker turn indicators.

The 2018 Maruti Ciaz facelift could have minor interior updates as well. The instrument console is likely to gain a new high-resolution MID. Other updates and changes in the form of new alloy wheels, new seat upholstery, and additional paint shades are a real possibility. Reports suggest that the Maruti Ciaz may gain the in-house 1.5 L diesel engine that's reportedly in its final stages of development, as well as the new 1.5-litre petrol engine as a replacement for the 1.4-litre petrol engine. These higher displacement motors will address customer complaints of poor in-gear acceleration and bring performance closer to the Verna and the City.

With the facelift, Maruti Suzuki may introduce new 1.4-litre petrol and 1.5-litre diesel engines in the Maruti Ciaz.
