The next-gen Maruti Ertiga has adopted LED lighting.

The latest spy shots suggest that the next-gen Maruti Ertiga (codename: Maruti YHA) features a redesigned rear bumper and new, wraparound tail lamps with LED lighting and LED high-mount stop lamp. Previous spy shots suggest that the second generation Maruti Ertiga has a longer rear overhang meaning extra space for the third-row passengers.

The next-gen Maruti Ertiga will share the lightweight and rigid Heartect platform with the next-gen Maruti Swift due for launch next month. The new platform should offer improved collision safety, just in time when the BNVSAP norms kick in this October. Whether the 1.4-litre petrol engine will continue or not is unknown, but as for the 1.3-litre diesel engine, a new 1.5-litre diesel engine developed in-house could take its place.
